From Soil to Soul: Food Justice in LA Film Screening

  • Patagonia Pasadena 47 North Fair Oaks Avenue Pasadena, CA, 91103 United States (map)

From Soil to Soul:

Join us for a special screening of From Soil to Soul: Food Justice in LA — a powerful short film that delves into the heart of food justice and community-led food sovereignty initiatives in Los Angeles.

This film shines a light on the inspiring stories of BIPOC youth and farmers, thought leaders, regenerative practitioners, and food activists in Los Angeles who are reclaiming their connection to the land and building a future rooted in justice and equity.

After the screening, join our panel discussion with some of the incredible individuals featured in the film, including Dr. Sherridan Ross, founder of Compton Community Garden, Matthew Teutimez, tribal biologist of the Kizh Gabrieleño tribe, Talia Dotson, regenerative designer and CEO at Akoben & Co, and more. They will share their insights on the vital work being done to advance food justice and sovereignty, and how we can all play a part in this transformative movement. You get to directly connect with local food activists, farmers, and changemakers who are at the forefront of creating systemic change in our communities.

Don’t miss the food brought to you by Patagonia Provisions, drinks by Topa Topa Brewery who will be serving Patagonia Provisions Kernza Lager, learnings, laughs, and giveaways! Shift Our Ways (S.O.W) Collective and Black Thumb Farms will also be handing out seeds as a part of a seed swap.
